Weekly News Roundup!
Each week I will attempt to gather up some news about other vendors, legal issues, rule/code changes and just about anything vendor related.
If you have a story or want to share your story, please send me an email. Give praise about a related product, a cart manufacturer, hot dog manufacturer or anything that other vendors may want to know about.
Discover Magazine has an article about Moral Cognition and in this fictional story, the culprit is an unaware and unattentive hot dog vendor and his deadly cart.
If your life as a vendor has gotten to the point you scream racial slurs, antagonize passerby’s and you become as miserable as this guy, do us all a favor and get the hell out of business. This guy gives vendors a bad name. He doesn’t represent the true entrepreneurial spirit, rather he exudes hate while slinging dogs. Good riddance to bad rubbish! Read More
Another successful vendor gets some attention. After purchasing her cart off craigslist she opened up and has plans to carry children’s books from the cart – that’s what I call creative marketing. I wonder if the books will be about hot dogs. I know a great book she could start out with; “hot dogs saved my life”. Read More

Competition often spurs change and usually the consumer wins. Hot dog vending is no exception. In NY City hot dog vendors have upped the stakes – they are fewer each year serving the standard ole’ hot dog on a bun. Fancy dogs are here and it looks like they are here to stay – customers love the new menu options. Read More
Writer Jeff T. Wattrick defends the vendor from the over zealous politician whom doesn’t want his courthouse sullied by the likes of us carnival types. Pay no attention to the inmates paraded in during trials, the real problem is the hot dog vendor. Great article Jeff! Read More
Tip of the week: Give a hot dog to an unsuspecting customer this week and enjoy the ripple.

Yo Ben! Nice to get your weekly news letter today………..been awhile….I purchased your
Big Dog cart mid August last year…I guess I spent a couple months too long “thinkin’ about it” before I got off the dime and bought my cart. Anyway, I’m slingin’ and having a great time.should have done it sooner. Between you and Steve Schiable you guys are a wealth of information….keep up the good work. I assume you have seen the square up device for taking credit cards out on your hot dog cart…I’ve signed up and got the reader in the mail yesterday…It should do great things for me. Keep up the good work!
