The past 7 days have been jam packed with vendor success stories and I hope you have been enjoying them as much as I. I should be kicked in the butt for not bringing these fantastic interviews to you all along. Well we must let bygones be bygones. (I don’t even know if that is how it’s spelled.)
Well Moncrief Williams has been slaving away in corporate America for over 25 years. But that’s all about to change. Press play above and listen to Hot Dog Vendor Radios newest Hot Dog Answer Man Podcast with Moncrief Williams.
Taking the plunge
Just one day after hitting the send button on his resignation with a corporate giant after 15 years with them, Moncrief shared his goals and his recent trials with getting his ‘Crief’s Dawg Depot’ up and running. Talk about taking a plunge. I asked Moncrief if how he felt that first night and as you would expect, he was worried but also felt as if a huge weight had been lifted. That’s exactly how I felt when I found the hot dog business; scared and excited.
The act of attempting a sell or introduction without and appointment or invite. Yuck! I hate cold calls and I’ve had to do it. And if you are just getting started you will too. We all do at first. It’s really not that bad and Moncrief gives some pointers to us all. What a great man to share this information. His cold calling netted him two great jobs and both are going to be huge, I mean HUGE!
When I say cold calls, I don’t mean dialing a phone either. This is walk in the door, shake a hand and warming up to the question. Moncrief shares both his experiences with us and how he got these full time gigs.
Marketing 101 – 103
Not only did he do all the research, including finding out that street vending isn’t allowed where he lives…grrrrrr…(read my rant on that) but he got his business cards, menus, flyers and a website. Wait till you check out his cool website. 2 young fellows did his website, they specialize in low cost professional one page solutions. You can visit them right here.
Well I hope you enjoyed it. Feel free to leave a comment below, ask Moncrief a question or wish him well in his new venture. Thank you all for allowing me be apart of this great big family of vendors. We all have come from different places, with baggage in hand, but we all have one common goal; SUCCESS! I’m here to tell you…. yeeeee hawww!
