Day One Hot Dog Vendor Success!

Breakfast Dogs and More are a Hit!

Twisted Culinarian

Jason writes in about the maiden voyage with his new King Kiosk cart.

Ben & Keith:
I just thought I would drop you a line about our maiden voyage with the king kart.  I set up at the Waukesha Farmers Market here in Wisconsin.  We offered 3 types of dogs.  We had the plain ol dog(all beef ballpark frank with their choice of toppings. $3) the Nathan’s super dog(all beef 1/4 lb dog with their choice of toppings $4) and the breakfast dog(all beef dog with apple wood smoked bacon an over medium egg and choice of hot sauce $4). Topping choices were limited this week but we plan on expanding for next week.  I did do coke(pepsi)onions which were a huge hit as well.  We sold a total of 49 dogs our first day out with over $200 in sales.  The big winner was the breakfast dog with a total of 25 sold!   I would have sold more but I ran out of bacon.  Over all I think that we did a pretty good job for our first outing and the market manager liked us so much he asked us if we wanted to be considered a regular vendor instead of just showing up each week and getting a different spot!!
As you can see I also have attached some pictures of the event as well.
Thanks.
Jason
Thank you Jason, for sharing with us.  I love getting stories from vendors.  I must try this breakfast dog.  Click on a picture below for full size image.
