On this Hot Dog Vendor Radio Show, hot dog vendors called in with their tips and some with questions.  How do you serve 1700 hot dogs in 2 hours?  What condiments should I start out with?

Supahotdogs Shares A Fantastic Tip!

My tip of the week from Supa Hotdogs comes to you via the Dollar Tree.  After seeing a display this week of chips and pretzels, I asked the manager if I could have a few of these clips.  The manager graciously gave me as many as I wanted as they throw them away when they are done with them.  It is perfect, as the items I will hang on them are priced at $1.00.  What a great savings instead of purchasing chip clips (Sorry Ben 😛 ) 

Ill understand if you don't want to advertise this saving 🙂

NEW Swooper Flag Holder Design

Not only will this save you time and money, it doubles as a shin guard for those pesky hot dog cart tongues.  Thank you Ron for sharing with us all.  It's great to get hot dog vendor training from fellow hot dog vendors.  🙂

Hi, Ben

I wanted to share with you my latest ‘Idea on the Cheap.'  It's my ‘Dirt Cheap Swooper Holder/Shin Basher Preventer Doo Dah Doo Dah.'

In this picture, it needs to be tack-welded into place on the trailer tongue and painted but you'll get the idea.  It's just a piece of pipe that I drilled and tapped for a set-screw to hold the swooper pole in place.  The set-screw itself is a bolt with a short piece of rod attached to create a handle.  The actual welding to the tongue will be just a few tacks to allow any water to run out.

The added benefit is that it's going to prevent anyone from accidentally falling over the trailer tongue or bashing their leg a dirty one on it.  In either case, that would most likely be me.

The point is that anyone can get things done for next to nothing with a little thought and ingenuity.  This one's a twofer.
