Ben, I thought I would send this over to you. It’s one of my favorite lunch destinations.
Doesn’t look like much, does it?
This couple works in a small town in Central TX (7500 people). They speak no English.
He bought the cart used for $700.00, and worked to get it up to code.
(Yes, he has a health certificate)
Not the kind of place you would stop at without a recommendation, but the facilities are clean, the food is good, and cheap.
He tells me that he and his wife have been working the cart here in front of this convenience store for about 11 months. He now has his cart up for sale, because they have saved enough money to move into a brick and mortar storefront.
Just to let everyone know, you can do almost everything wrong, but if you will keep at it, you can succeed.
Attached also is his signature dish. He calls it the Lucky Dog, a take on the classic Sonora Dog.
Beans, ham, bacon, dog, and onions. He sells then for 2 bucks each.
Not a bad deal for a $4.00 lunch.
