Happy Halloweenie, folks! I'm going to answer a couple of between-show questions. I have one about parking at an event, and whether the parking lot is private property. And another one about a standalone steam table. So here we go…

Car Show Parking Lot

Is the car show parking lot private property? Well, if it's owned by somebody besides the city or county or government, it's private property. You can find out by going inside and asking, or you can look it up online. Once you figure out who owns the space, then you can figure out who to ask for permission to set up your food cart there.

Standalone Steam Table

Is it possible to get a steam table that runs on propane but isn't part of a food cart? You can check places like katom.com for stuff like this, and you will probably pay $500-$700 for the steam table. You can also get an electric steam table that's portable for a pretty low price. But if you really want a propane steam table, you might look at building your own. It will save you some money.

If you go to buildacart.com you can get the instructions for building a whole food cart. Now that's more information than you need for just a steam table, but all of the instructions on building a steam table are included in that DIY course. You get step by step instructions, parts list, video tutorial, etc.

You know I've been skeptical about using Street Eats to get locations like Lowes and Home Depot. But recently they got in touch to let me know they're revamping their website and are interested in getting new vendors set up.
