Mobile food vendors use a lot of ice packs to keep food and drinks cold while vending. You know that even inside a cooler, ice can melt quickly in hot weather, and if you're buying ice cubes, ice blocks, or re-usable gel packs, you can end up spending a lot of money on that stuff.
Make Your Own Ice Packs
Here's a great tip for making your own ice packs. And even better than ice cubes or blocks, these containers hold the water as they melt, so your products don't get as wet. Nobody likes dealing with the cloudy, dirty water at the bottom of a cooler after the ice melts.
You just wash out your used milk jugs, soda bottles, water bottles, etc. Fill them up with water and freeze them. Then you can pack them in coolers with your food and drinks to keep things cool and not have everything drowning in water! Voila!
When you're done for the day, you can re-freeze them or toss them.
