I just wanted to share something with you, and the other brother and sister hot dog slingers.
I see a lot of pictures of hand-written menus. Whether on whiteboards or poster board, or whatever.
I started out with printed 8.5 x 11 sheets, then went to a hand-written dry erase board. But I was never satisfied.
The whiteboard had to be re-written every time it got smudged in transit, or whenevere a youngster was allowed to mess with it by the parents. And don't forget, any time I needed to change the menu or the prices.
So here's what I did…
I was already using a magnetic dry erase board from Hobby Lobby. I printed and laminated my menu items and an abundant mixture of prices. I used a roll of adhesive magnets, which I also purchased from Hobby Lobby.
This roll of magnet can be cut with any scissors or a utility knife. I cut pieces and stuck them on the back of each menu item and price.

Now I can change my menu or prices in seconds, as the back of the board is also magnetic, and will hold the extras. I also tape my business license and health department inspection on the back of the board. The added bonus is that it doesn't smudge, and it always looks great.
I have 2 different sizes of boards, depending on which cart and umbrella or tent setup. One is 2ft x 3ft, and the other is 18in x 24in. I just print the items in different sizes for the different boards.
