Why in the world?

Why would I tell you about Tommy's? He's not a street vendor, I don't think he's ever owned a cart, but he has created a niche. Blog reader Marc Pisa is to thank for sending this over. He says that anytime you show up there are about 20 people in line for one of these fantastic hot dogs.

Yes, I realize we can't serve this wide variety from a cart but can we learn a little from Tommy? I say yes, every day I learn from others, some not even vendors who call and give me an idea or share their story. Tommy has something that I see often in successful vendors, he has a sense of humor, but that's not all – he has a fantastic menu and fast friendly service which creates and atmosphere others flock to.

“The man has a head for hot dogs. Hot Dog Tommy's is quite literally, an open window to the hunger craving soul of the Cape May beach goer. Where else can you get a perfect Root beer slushy and eclectic selection of lunch items that surprise you with how beach day tasty perfect they are?

This writer has two favorites; the Leaner Weiner Jersey Slaw Dog (small doggie with a funky cranberry slaw and mustard layer that keeps you thinking how tasty it is the whole time you're chowing). And my other favorite is the Tuna Cup. It features Mary's original recipe of tuna salad, banana peppers, and crushed potato chips on top. One serving and you're hooked!
