It's official! We have received the go ahead on our first Kiva Zip loan fundraiser. Carol is a dear friend of our family and I interviewed her so that you could get to know her a little. I have included some outtakes from our Skype video call from before and after the interview too. My girls and her girls talk and have fun and even some singing for your listening pleasure.

Carol wouldn't beg, she takes pride in the fact that she is one tough and independent single mother, but lately things have been really tough. After losing her commercial fishing job, she had to surrender to a much lower paying job; one that doesn't allow her to take care of her children as she would like. She receives help when needed from friends and family but knows she can achieve the independence she would like with her new hot dog business.
I could bring you to tears with some of the challenges she's faced recently, but after asking her if she would let me share some with you, she was hesitant, she didn't want to appear as a beggar or someone that doesn't recognize what she currently has.
