Sometimes you need to know how to make a sink. Whether you are building a hot dog cart, or repairing a used food cart, this is something that you can do yourself. It's probably easier and cheaper than you think.
How to Make a Sink
Start with a steam pan. As long as it's food grade stainless steel (or another nonporous food grade steam pan), it is safe to use as a sink. From there, you will need to get a couple of accessories to build the drain, stopper or plug, drainpipe, and backflow prevention. You will need a simple soldering set to attach the metal parts. Be sure your flux and solder do not contain lead or cadmium. Some food grade silicone caulk might also come in handy for sealing the seams of your sink.
Note: you will probably want to find a local fabrication shop to cut the hole in the bottom of the pan for your sink. Stainless steel is hard to cut through without the proper tools.
