Usually a quiet person with a soft voice – but… when she's mad…
– everyone knows it!

From my office about 2 rooms away I could hear her.

This $%#@ soap dispenser!!!!
I'm about to take a sledge hammer to it.

(fortunately – we don't own one)

The soap dispenser is one of those that comes through the counter top.

I walk in to find the kitchen floor piled up with whatever we keep under the sink and my wife's leg sticking out from the small door under the sink.

She all the way up under the sink.

And although she's a tiny little thing…

• our space under the sink is smaller.

Weaved around the drain and water supply lines, she's crammed all the way in there trying to screw the bottle back on after filling it.

The cursing started when she dropped the bottle and applied (unintentionally) a good coat of blue soap over the entire cabinet bottom.

(along with her arm, pants and one foot)

I swear I still don't know what kind of extreme yoga position she contorted herself into – to get under there.

There should be an award – just for that.

Here she is after winning an argument with this tree…

I helped her out, sort of like how you unfold an intricate origami Velociraptor.

Once topside, I gently pulled the soap dispenser top off.

And said…

Now, just pour the soap into here next time.

In hindsight, probably should have waited a spell

• to give that advice. (and probably without the little smirk too)

YOU MEAN TO TELL ME THAT &^%$ AND %&@$$ is out it's done and you are just now TELLING ME!!!!

Now… she's madder than a one legged waitress at the IHOP.

I'm now 100% regretting taking this teaching moment to bolster my ego and show her just how “handy” I really am.

Fortunately for me… she's quick to forgive and forget. So by 2054 we should all be in the clear.

And I've been promoted to official soap dispenser refueler.

• how many times have you done something backasswards only to later learn there are eleventeen better ways to do it?

It's the same with vending.
