Tammi and her husband just opened Doggone Yummy Catering with their new Cater Pro® – and wrote in after the first event. And they didn't even do hot dogs. Fried pies!

It was a small event. Expected 1100 people, it was overcast so the turnout was less. We were the busiest vendor! Someone else sold hotdogs and lemonade, and there was a BBQ guy. He probably made more $ because his prices were high. Our most expensive item was $4. We sold homemade peanut brittle, fried pies (a big hit), nachos, fritz pie and sweet tea. Brought home over $700 more than we left with and got another festival and a birthday party lined up! We had the best display…lots of comments about our cart.

Sure, they could have competed with other main food vendors and brought hot dogs… but they adapted to the event – FOR A HUGE WIN!
Tammi updated me:
I have an addendum…my husband talked to the BBQ guy that was there. It turns out we made more money than he did because his expenses were so high! He said if we are going to be there next year, he won't be. People who walked by us first told him they were too full from our stuff to buy from him! We have decided that we will be selling fried pies in addition to everything else at every event we get into, since that was our biggest seller and no one else has them.
