Operating my cart/business has been a blast! Beats the heck out of working for a living. I am located in front of the court house on the main road that runs through town . My regular customers ( yes I already have regulars ) drive by and honk or wave and yell out as they go by. Truck drivers honk their air horns. I have had semi drivers pull to the curb and holler down for a dog. Everyone is talking about the hot dog cart guy and his delicious and reasonably priced food. The hardest part about operating my business is closing down for the day. Every time I try to do it someone comes up and wants to buy a dog or something. I have fired my grill back up more than once to cook up a last minute order of combos for a family. My latest was an order of 9 combos priced at $3.50 for a beef frank and $4.50 for polish. Just got invited to the biggest event of the year here.. the Popcorn fest. Anticipate selling like a thousand or more dogs that day and that may be a low figure. Also got a call from a national warehouse distribution center who hired me to come cook dogs at their employee family picnic of anywhere from 150 to 200 people. One of the employees ate at my cart and suggested it to the HR dept. Dont even know how they got my unlisted cell number but I am glad they did. Anyway heading out to my spot now for the day even though it is my birthday and my wedding anniversary got to go keep my customers and raving fans happy.
