Coke and Onions make everything better

COKE and ONIONs RECIPE

5 Medium Onions
Approx. 2 Cans of Cola (not diet)
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. garlic powder
2 tbsp. olive oil (any cooking oil will do)

Slice onion ends off.
Slice onion in half and remove outer dry layers
Slice onion down into slices like 1/2 onion rings

Heat skillet (med. high)
Add olive oil
Dump in onions
Add Coke® or Pepsi® (about 12oz. can worth)

Allow to boil stirring occasionally.
Add salt and garlic (add more to taste)
Add more cola as needed, usually 2 cans is plenty in total
Don't let it get dry
As onions begin to look like this:

Stop adding and let cook down a few more minutes until it looks almost like a thick syrup.

Add to your favorite meals as a topping.  It's superb on wild game and is fantastic on Pizza, hot dogs, burgers, steak, liver etc…

TIP: Don't freeze – holds well in fridge for 10 days
TIP: Add 3 tblsp. of brown sugar to speed up process if needed

In this episode I discuss a recipe I got from Biker Jim's Dogs in Colorado.  It is a great way to make hot dogs and sausages even better.  Biker Jim uses this atop his wild game dogs as it tames the flavors from the wild meat.

I use it because it's absolutely delicious!
