The short answer is “no“. The longer answer is: “maybe“. And I can tell you definitely when it will be an absolute “yes“. Hot dog vending can be done in other states.

The Traveling Hot Dog Vendor

I interviewed a couple a few years ago. They haul their cart inside a toy hauler pulled behind their truck. Traveling from state to state, event to event – they vend while retired.

We are able to visit our grandkids and our great grandkids anytime we want. We aren't limited by our fixed incomes anymore.

August 2016 – Bob & Cathy Shuler

They only do the small hometown events around the country. This provides them a secondary income that rivals their “fixed income”.

Since then many vendors, not just grandparents – have started using a hot dog cart to fund their travels across the country.

It's a working vacation Ben! We love it and have just upgraded our trailer to the 36 foot hauler. In Montana for two events now. Beautiful here.
