Howdy folks! I got a chance to do a hot dog vendor interview with Billy (Boss Dawg's) a few days ago. He runs a fantastic hot dog business from a Stand King, and was willing to sit and chat. We talked about his business, some helpful tips for other street food vendors, and how he appreciates the information shared within the street food pro community.

Hot Dog Vendor Interview

Billy used to work in the convenience store construction industry. It was a rough life, and his wife was tired of him coming home angry. He was tired of being paid less than he was worth, dealing with outrageous stress levels, bringing that stress home, and having a poor quality of life. His wife saw something about the hot dog business, and Billy looked into it. He found my free training and resources, and jumped right into planning the business.

Between January and May, he worked toward getting the business started by doing tons of research. He did not want to start without having things researched and figured out ahead of time.

He picked up a Stand King from Ben's Carts in Tennessee because he wanted to be able to vend year-round. He had a plan to make his business big, and invested in the Stand King at the end of April. He worked on the weekends during the summer while he still had his regular job during the week. In September, he went full time with Boss Dawg's!
