After working for the company for 17 years, they sold out. He was just 1 of many who suddenly were jobless.

He did have a 401k and some severance pay, but that wasn't going to get him through till retirement.

AND NOW RETIREMENT SEEMED FURTHER OFF.

“Ben, it's absolutely devastating.”

He had been up north twice and even ate from a vendor once. He said that even at that time he remembers feeling sorry for the vendor who was all wrapped up to stay warm as he served hot dogs and sausages.

“I never even dreamed I'd be doing the same one day.”

He got started in the business and hated it.

I mean he hated it.

He wrote to me once asking how in the world anyone could enjoy vending.

His email sounded more like he felt the job was BENEATH him.

But due to the circumstances and his new business investment, he almost was forced to stick with it.
Yesterday he wrote me again…

Ben, I must apologize. Back in February I emailed you. I complained and I told you how much I hated this business. We even talked by phone a few times but I doubt you remember me.

Either way I want you to know. I WAS WRONG. I love this. I've helped a previous co-worker get started and he's actually doing even better than me.

My wife and I are working 4 days a week. She helps prep and I run the cart. She even does the clean up.

If you remember me, please forgive my hasty and uncalled for email I sent you back then. We are making great money and I'm working far less than I used to.

Now he's happy he didn't throw in the towel. He fell in love with it and is financially secure.

P.S. Ronnie Carr isn't alone. I can relate. I never thought I'd be a vendor and was literally embarrassed to be vending in front of people who I knew so well.

And no one says ya gotta do it forever. Many, like Ronnie and I – we started thinking it was a temporary solution. Little did we know.
