As if my big ass wasn't a dead giveaway!
I love to cook. Well mostly bake, but cooking sometimes too. Just last night I made buckeyes, those beautiful peanut butter balls with the chocolate coating. I did this right before I made the ever so famous Dolly Parton's Cream of Vegetable Soup with homemade cheesy garlic buttermilk biscuits. Yup, that's right – I did it. Of course it's bad for you and it clogs your arteries and it makes you fat – in other words, it's comfort food. And boy was I comfortable last night.
I keep hearing from vendors about Sonoran dogs and my search led me to Hilah. Who is Hilah? Well she is a good friend of mine, we went to different schools together and my mom's third cousin twice removed was once in Austin where the soon to be famous Hilah lives. So that makes us…..
Hilah is a beautiful blonde with that sweet southern accent or is it a Texas accent? Either way, she is gorgeous and she knows cooking. As luck would have it, she has a video and recipe on making a Sonoran (Mexican) hot dogs that I will be trying soon.
I knew this was going to be a new favorite hot dog recipe for me when I watched Hilah take the bun and rub it around in the hot bacon grease as it toasted. Mmmmm – good! Well enough chit chat, here's the link to Hilah's webpage and her Facebook and if you love to cook or want to learn, she even has a book with video links and bonus stuff.
Want the book for FREE? Take a picture of your Sonoran hot dog made at your cart and post it on my Facebook page and bam, I'm buying you the book. First post wins.
See Hilah's 3rd reason why you should learn to cook. (hint: it can be found at www.LearnToCookBook.com)
EDIT: Hilah posted this awesome video on what to do with those leftover dogs: HERE
Or just watch it here, but your gonna miss the details…
