Many people love the idea of starting a business and leaving the 9-5 grind. But they are worried that it's not possible to live off the income from a hot dog cart or food truck.

Sometimes family and friends even try to convince you that it's a bad idea to even try…

Well, here's a great success story from David (ChiConey's Hot Dogs and Catering) who is actually making a living doing just that… selling hot dogs.

He started with a tent and a used cart, and is now getting ready to buy a Stand King and build his own food cart. This way, he can add the equipment and features he needs to make his customers happy.

His customers like split dogs and buttered buns, so he can add a grill and butter roller to his custom DIY cart.

And he's not only selling hot dogs, but you can see some of his vending locations in the photos below. He's also catering events, selling coffee and breakfast from the cart, and doing catered breakfasts.

Ben, I’m sharing my photos below with you and others to show the selling hot dogs and catering business is real, pandemic proof, and can make anyone who applies themselves enough money to make a comfortable living.

To your past videos about vending without a cart (from a tent), and starting out with a used cart, and even the catering videos. They are all true and I decided to give them a try after listening to your videos.

I would NOT have tried this if it hadn’t been for your videos. Surrounded by naysayers, negativity and anyone with a heartbeat who was all too eager to tell me why it my hot dog vending wouldn’t work, you were the help.

I found my only source of consistent encouragement was your videos and the hot dog vending contributors you’ve interviewed.

I would always drive around as I was starting the business and listen to your videos and interviews.

It’s a great business, selling hot dogs. Here are pictures of events and products I sold at catered events (PREPAID) and products I’ve sold street vending.

Also, breakfast is a nice vending opportunity selling just coffee and fresh bread slices or muffins, as well as catered breakfasts. Tried these thanks to you and they were a big success.

My Immediate Future Plans…

My immediate future plans are to buy a stand king from you in the next couple of months, and finish building my new cart after purchasing your ‘build a cart’ program.

I sold my used cart (although extremely profitable) because my Dream Maker Ventura didn’t have features I needed. This after getting feedback and requests from my customers.

Many people like split and grilled hot dogs. Many love their buns buttered and toasted.

The new cart I’m building with your plans, has the grill and the butter roller I need.

And who wouldn't love buttered buns?
